What do you do if you like to drink a lot, then all of a sudden you discover a perfect combination or formula of ingredients that’s not bottled up for the market yet and - best of all - you got a great sense of entrepeneurism buzzing around your head? That’s right, you start your own brand. This is exactly what three proud, young Dutch businessmen with true V.O.C. mentality, Daan de Boer, Victor Crezee and Paul Geusebroek did some time ago and now they are ready to introduce Budt. The key to going extremely well. Or in plain Dutch: Lekker gaan. The commercial is fresh out of the postproduction on a blog near you. To be more exact: you can watch it right here. It may be clear the brand has no intentions of keeping quiet, as they announced a big launch event on September 4th in Paradiso, Amsterdam. LeLe, Mr.Wix, Firestone, Danny de Funk & Lil’Vic are on the bill so a Wellgoing experience is guaranteed.

Today marks the 10 month anniversary and exactly 1.000 posts of Nice&Important, the blog, the movement. My main man Perre van den Brink aka @Perrevdb aka Captain Cnalpipe aka More Aka’s here is founder, owner, creative director, copywriter and webmaster of this incredibly funny, wellwritten, checked-by-us-every-day blog. And he’s just started people! For some time now he also writes for Dutch fashion magazine Blend and he recently joined the Honorable People’s columns at High Snobiety along with Patta, MoManager & MyLittleSoundsystem. He was also involved in creating the 2009 Appelsap campaign and he even throws in some handsome boy modeling swagg once in a while. So be on the look out for this talented friend of ours! His hilarious writings on Nice&Important are mostly in Dutch, but I expect the same with some international flavor at High Snobiety.

Last but not least Perre’s birthday is coming up and he will celebrate this event together with fellow party smokers Wester & Danny de Funk. Feel welcome at Hotel Knalifornia on 07.08.09 at Dancing at Jones.

This Saturday, July 25th another crazy Woodbuyers Night at Bitterzoet. This time we invited Systeempje, the newest dj-team on the block about to release some fresh flavor on all y’all. Expect some dirty dubstep, glitch, future hiphop, fake r&b, dancehall and all in between. Also your regular dj’s SP & deReiger team up for the usual pardy pardy s/hits. As we told you, free festival Appelsap is back this year on Sunday August 2nd at the beautiful Oosterpark in Amsterdam. The line up is a killer with Pharoahe Monch (US), Theophilus London (US), Dutch rapgroup Zwart Licht, DJ Benji-B (UK), DJ Lefto (BE), Boyz in the Hood (Hef, Crooks, Adonis), dj’s SP, Edzon, Lil’Vic, Danny de Funk & FS Green and more to be announced.

The event is free and besides lots of drinks (do not bring your own, then you really cheap) there’s Surinamese food, Lofel&Burgers and much more goodness.

The campaign was shot by supermodelphotographerspowerduo Petrovsky&Ramone. Styling by the lovely Heleen Out & Moibe Cosster. Also loads of thanks to @Perrevdb & Sasa Ostoja & special big ups to Jakob Nieuwenhuijsen for jumping through hula hoops in crazy suits and stuff…

Case: Rooms of Red Bull

For Red Bull we created the Rooms of Red Bull, a wonderful project that has finally seen the ‘light’ and now opened it’s doors to the audiences.

Rooms of Red Bull is a 600 square meters creative hub in the midst of the Amsterdam Red Light District. This is where young creative people will meet, and be able to use the in-house facilities to be inspired, to create, and to ultimately expose their creations. In other words: a place that will stimulate your mind. Until the end of August there will be workshops, and lectures on various subjects in the fields of art, photography and music. Between June and the end of August the rooms will be buzzing with a unique kind of energy. The kind of vibe you get when young people share there passion for aesthetics and sounds.

In the spirit of ‘Giving wings to people and ideas’, Red Bull has been stimulating creative talent for over twenty years. The brand has been organising art and music projects, such as Red Bull 5 Pics, Red Bull Soundclash, and the Red Bull Music Academy, on a regular basis. Rooms of Red Bull forms a new chapter in this tradition, and makes sure that all of the Red Bull projects are brought together under one roof. This will lead to unique artistic crossovers at the most inspiring place in the country.

Behind the windows of the Rooms of Red Bull, loads of art-in-progress is on display. Bands perform jam sessions, several crews make daily live radio, photographers provide exclusive workshops, and producers collaborate on new tracks. What’s more: ten very talented Dutch visual artists will create a unique atmosphere in every room.

Rooms of Red Bull will end with a grand exposition, where the best work of the summer will be exposed and sold. Profits will go to the artists and to a good cause (tbc). Rooms of Red Bull will return in 2010 to open its doors on a new location.
